Water Test results for Drinking Water Safety:
Drinking water treatment objectives (microbiological) for surface water supplies in British Columbia
Glade Irrigation District Water Test Results:
Test results for free and total chlorine
Testing done daily. In general, a free chlorine residual of 0.2 mg/L is considered a minimum level for the control of bacterial regrowth in the distribution system. For more information see FAQ: treatment options.
Test results for Turbidity
Testing done daily. Turbidity is measured in nephelometric turbidity units (NTU) and is generally acceptable when less than 1 NTU. For more information see FAQ: treatment options.
UVT: UV Transmittance will be monitored periodically. UV transmittance (UVT) is not turbidity. The water’s clarity is not an effective indicator, because both solid and dissolved material can absorb UV light. For example: metals (iron) in water are not visible to the human eye but absorb UV light and have a negative impact on UVT.
UVT values:
Oct 16, 2014: 80%
Nov 19, 2014: 88%
